Racing

The club holds regular race meets throughout the year for 1/10 scale electric powered RC cars/trucks.

Sunday racing is regularly held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month (9.30am until approx 4pm).

Saturday Twilight racing is sometimes held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month (dependant on competitor numbers). Racing starts at 4pm and finishes at approx 9pm.

The club is a member of the 1/10th Electric State Association: A.A.R.C.M.C.C. Affiliation to this association means our members can compete at any Club, State or National Championships throughout Australia.

 


Classes raced

All racing is done in accordance with AARCMCC and ROAR rulings

1/10 Novice class

Run what you have, buggy or truck. We are more than happy to give you any further advice you may need on race day, or beforehand via email/rctech forum. Come have a chat at any race meeting.

1/10 2wd stock buggy

17.5 turn brushless motor, Blinky ESC, 2s (7.4v) lipo batt or 7 cell NiMh

1/10 4wd stock buggy

17.5 turn brushless motor, Blinky ESC, 2s (7.4v) lipo batt or 7 cell NiMh

1/10 2wd modified buggy

Any turn motor, 2s (7.4v) lipo battery or 7 cell NiMh

1/10 4wd modified buggy

1/10 2wd Short Course Truck

Track race timing

The cars carry a small transponder, each with a unique identifying code. As a car passes over the transponder loop imbedded in the track at the start/finish line, the transponder number is registered on the computer, which times each lap down to one hundreth of a second and also counts how many laps the car does in the 5-6 min race time. At the end of the race, the driver with the most amount of laps is the winner.

Transponders are available to borrow from the club, free of charge to use for the day. Personal transponders can also be used (AMBrc, Mylaps, etc)
The club uses Alycat computer software for race management and timing
